THIS IS THE COVER AND BACK OF THE NEW CD FEATURING THE CHIEF OF THE SEMINOLES, CHIEF JAMES BILLIE

    OLD PIRATE’S TREASURES

From Key West, Florida, famous for Margaritas and
Sunset parties,
comes a new sound from Songwriter/Singer Sir C.W. Colt
Pirate Treasures is a series of original music releases in the spirit of the newest recognized
American musical art form called “True Americana Music:” this music is what we live in our day-to-day lives.”

On each release C.W. Colt teams with musicians
recognized for their performances with America’s best
known recording artists, the “treasures” of the
industry, creating a “musician’s musicians’ band.”
On each release the cover art expands the theme with
legendary, and at times controversial, characters such
as Key West Treasure hunter Mel Fisher and Capt. Tony,
adventurer and Mayor of Key West from the first CD
Legends and Treasures.
In “the Keys” where many Souls go to “drop out”,
following a “Buffett and booze” lifestyle, C.W. Colt
has achieved a cult-like following as chronicler of
the human experience. Struggle, heartbreak, survival,
love and success are the subjects of his music. It is
all rendered believable and honest with his gritty,
time-polished vocals, which dip occasionally into a
deep, heart shaking bass.
From his early years, traveling from Montana to
Mexico–California to Key West, playing in
bars and anywhere someone would listen, talented and
interesting people were drawn to him. These Legends
and Treasures inspire his music and combine to
celebrate the magic and love of everyday life.
Old Pirates Treasures is the second CD of the Legends
and Treasures series. It is filled with Love and the
spirit of Magical sounds created from the heart. “That
is what all my music is about”.
While recording, C.W. inspired the musicians to "play
from the heart." Consequently, the sounds you hear are
not from tedious rehearsal but are spontaneous from
their heart and soul.
The cover art features James Billie, the longtime
leader of the Florida Seminole Tribe and wildlife
specialist Rey Becceras with artwork by Apache Indian
Remy Cabrera. The poignancy of Cabrera’s art is fully
understood when you learn how he grew up on a
reservation and barbed wire was the symbol of his
confinement. Then Love brought him to his knees and a
barbed wire heart became proof of the pain of love as
well as his badge of courage.
When asked how Old Pirates Treasures became such a
unique representation of True Americana Music, C.W.
smiles and tells us, “Well, here is the ‘recipe’ for
‘True Americana Music’”.
First you take songs by Singer/Songwriter Sir C. W.
Colt and add Capt Fiddlin Red on Lead Guitar, Mandolin
and back up vocals. Then you blend in Steve Super on
Super Bass and back-up vocals. Stir in the Calypso
sounds of Sir Cedrick Luces on the Steel Pans. Then
you mix in today's New Blues with 11-year-old Little
Boy Flowers on Piano. Add a taste of Flute and Sax
with Marty Stonely. Stir it up with the reeling,
mystic riffs of Fingers Taylor on Harmonica.

Sprinkle in a little Jazz Drums with Roger Van Zant.

Finally, add some extra hot spice with Mauricio Barroso on Latin Conga,

Percussion and the African Bata. When all this is recorded,

Mixed and Mastered by Dan and Melody at Private Ear Studio

You have the ‘Heart’ of “True American Music’.
